- Vitamin Absorption & Metabolism: Learn how efficiently your body processes essential vitamins.
- Hormone Metabolism: Find out how your body handles hormones and what you can do to support them.
- Neurotransmitter Regulation: This includes MAOA gene testing, which is key to understanding mood, anxiety, and mental health.
- Detoxification Capacity: Should you skip BBQ or cut down on coffee? DNA testing tells you.
- Fat Metabolism: Discover how your body handles dietary fat.
- Disease Risk: Get insights into genetic predispositions for heart disease, gut health, and more.
- Methylation and Homocysteine Metabolism: This includes MTHFR, MTRR, PEMT, CBS and COMT gene testing, which are crucial for brain chemistry, immune health, inflammation, and cardiovascular well-being.
What is DNA testing?
Since the early 2000s, scientists have been mapping genes and uncovering how they impact health. DNA testing goes beyond your ancestry—it empowers you to understand how your genes affect everything from detoxification to hormone balance. This new science, called Epigenetics, shows that your genes aren’t your destiny. By making the right lifestyle, diet, and supplement choices, you can “switch off” problematic genes and live the healthiest life possible.
Epigenetics: Your Genes, Your Choices! Just because you inherit a gene doesn’t mean it will control your health. For example, certain genes can predispose you to hormone-related issues like infertility or endometriosis. However, with the right diet and lifestyle, these genes can be managed effectively.
Wouldn’t it be simply brilliant if you could see what “DNA hand” that nature and your ancestors have dealt you?
THE BASIS OF DNA
To grasp the concepts of Nutrigenetics and Nutrigenomics, it’s essential to first understand what genes are and how they impact your health.
Our genome comprises approximately 30,000 genes. Each gene is a DNA sequence that encodes a specific molecule with a particular function.
While humans share about 99.9% of their DNA, the remaining 0.1% accounts for our unique traits, such as height, eye colour, and susceptibility to various health conditions like diabetes or cardiovascular disease.
The interaction between genes and environmental factors—such as diet and exercise—significantly impacts overall health. Understanding this interaction helps tailor personalised health strategies for optimal well-being.

FAQ’s
Each DNA Test Kit includes one salvia DNA swab, complete instructions for taking the test, one unique registration code, and a reply-paid envelope. Shipping costs are included in the package.
The test can be completed either at the clinic or from the comfort of your own home. It’s a simple, non-invasive oral sample (cheek swab) with just a few guidelines to follow:
You must refrain from eating, brushing your teeth, chewing gum, drinking, or smoking for at least 30 minutes before the test.
Remove any lipstick or lip balm prior to providing the sample.
Follow the included instructions, which involve taking the swab from its pouch and brushing the inside of your cheek to collect the sample. Be sure to complete the barcoded sticker with your details, attach it to the swab tube, and place it back in the pouch.
Once you’ve completed the test, simply post it in the pre-provided pack, or we’ll send it to the Fitgenes lab for you. Your results will be ready in 6–8 weeks.
Watch the instruction video here.
You will be asked to fill out a patient form, which will give us more information on your symptoms, current medications, and supplement intake, allowing us to tailor your protocol to you personally. If you would prefer not to provide this information, just write N/A. Ordering as a gift? We require name and gender, but other patient details can be marked as N/A.
You will schedule a PLATINUM HEALTH DNA TEST Review Consultation appointment in 8 weeks, where you will receive your personalised results. These results will include suggested pathology tests, tailored food, supplements, and lifestyle recommendations, as well as an intervention plan to dive deeper into specific findings from your DNA test. All lab reports are provided in PDF format and in English.
We will analyse each gene variation and give you an easy-to-read, personalised report on supplements and dietary changes that will support your body in achieving optimal health.
The report uses a simple traffic light system to identify which genes, according to research, are a) able to be modified through changes in lifestyle, diet or exercise habits, b) be significantly upstream in the metabolic pathway to make a difference to your overall health c) not be a barrier to gaining health insurance in the future d) make a difference to your health goals e) be able to help support healthy aging & prevent many health problems from manifesting.

This is just a snapshot of the valuable insights you can gain from this comprehensive, once-in-a-lifetime genetic testing.
No. As we’re testing the genetic code, which is fixed, the test is not impacted by illness, infections, medication, the food you eat, or supplements you take.
When you consume nutrients, your body takes in raw materials that must be converted into forms it can use. This conversion process is called methylation. Methylation plays a crucial role in how your genes function by regulating various bodily processes, such as hormone production, neuron function, and energy creation. Essentially, methylation acts like billions of tiny switches that turn genes on or off, helping to manage mood, detoxify hormones, produce energy, and support healthy aging.
Because methylation occurs throughout the entire body, poor methylation can lead to a variety of health issues. A Genetic Methylation Test analyzes your DNA for small differences, known as SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms), that can affect how well your body processes nutrients and medications. Understanding these genetic variations allows you to make more informed decisions about your health.
As Gary Brecka from 10X/Ultimate Human, a renowned human biologist, explains: “We put raw materials into the body—vitamins, amino acids, proteins, and carbohydrates—but if we cannot convert them into a usable form, this is where methylation comes in. It’s the most important process every human goes through. If there are breaks in your methylation, you need to supplement for the deficiency, as prolonged deficiencies can eventually lead to pathology and disease.”
