How Is An Assessment Made?
The testing procedure is simple and non-invasive, yet very accurate results can be obtained. When you have your Health Assessment, you will be asked to hold a hard electrode to complete the electrical circuit. A handheld stylus, shaped like a pen, is gently applied to the acupuncture point, passing a tiny current down the meridian of the organ or system being tested. The resistance to this current is measured. This is a control measurement.
A test ampule containing a known substance is placed in the machine, and another measurement is taken. If there is an aggravation of inflammation, there will be an increase in ions present, which enhances the flow of electrons, increasing the conductance. This will be indicated by a lack of ions, which hinders the flow of electrons, resulting in a lower reading. This is the basic measurement. Once the control and basic measurements have been obtained. A series of pre-tests and organ tests is carried out by placing known ampoules in the machine and observing the readings.
Once the pre-tests and organ tests have been done, the pathological “terrain” and the stressed organs will have been found. How to take a hair sample
- We need a minimum of a ½ teaspoon of hair to obtain accurate results.
- Please take your hair sample from the back of your head.
- Cut your hair as close to the scalp as possible and supply us with the sample that is closest to your scalp.
- Place the sample in a small paper envelope (not plastic).
- If you have dyed hair, please provide us with a sample from a different part of your body.
- If you do not have head hair, please provide hair from another part of the body.
- If you are unable to provide a hair sample, we can also use a set of unpolished nail clippings. Alternatively, you can provide a buccal swab taken using a clean cotton bud swiped on the inside of both cheeks and placed in a paper envelope.
